Title: Supervisor, Commercial/Agriculture Support

This role collaborates closely with frontline commercial and ag lending teams, member experience, credit adjudication, and risk functions, when required, to support efficient processes, enhance service delivery, and support responsible growth in ag/com lending. This role is accountable for maintaining operational standards, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and fostering a culture of efficiency and accuracy in administrative support.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Supervision & Team Leadership
- Provide daily oversight and coaching to Loan Support Specialist(s) supporting commercial/agriculture portfolios.
- Monitor workflow, set priorities, and ensure quality standards are consistently met.
- Mentor team members to build technical expertise in commercial/agriculture loan documentation.
Loan Administration Oversight
- Ensure accurate preparation, processing, and maintenance of commercial/agriculture loan documentation.
- Oversee disbursements, renewals, security registration, and ongoing monitoring processes.
- Support timely and efficient processing that enables strong member outcomes and frontline commercial/ag specialists.
Compliance & Quality Control
- Ensure all activities comply with credit union policies, risk frameworks, and Canadian regulatory standards.
- Conduct quality reviews of loan files, documentation, and disbursement accuracy.
- Address errors or compliance issues promptly and implement corrective measures.
Process Improvement & Operational Support
- Collaborate with Lending, Credit, and Risk teams to streamline processes and align with organizational priorities.
- Recommend changes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and member experience.
- Participate in operational projects and system enhancements related to commercial/agriculture lending.
Reporting & Collaboration
- Provide regular reports to the COO on workload, performance, and risk/compliance issues.
- Collaborate with peers in Retail, Risk, and Member Experience to ensure consistency of standards and practices.
Other Duties
- Assist with documentation or processing during peak workload or staff absences.
- Support business continuity and other cross-functional initiatives as required.
Education & Qualifications
- Minimum 4–6 years of experience in commercial or agriculture lending administration.
- Experience working directly with lending systems and core banking platforms.
Preferred
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related discipline, preferred.
- Familiarity with Manitoba’s credit union regulatory environment, including DGCM requirements, preferred.
- Previous supervisory or team lead experience in a financial services environment, preferred.
- Experience supporting larger, complex lending structures such as syndications or multi-entity farm operations preferred.
