We are currently hiring a Software Developer Analyst. This role is based out of our Burnaby Head Office and operates in a hybrid work environment, with in-office collaboration three days per week.

As a Software Developer Analyst, you will be part of a collaborative SCRUM team responsible for developing and supporting business applications and digital solutions. You will contribute to building scalable and reliable software solutions while working closely with senior developers, architects, and cross-functional partners to deliver high-quality technology that supports BCAA’s business systems.

Once you’re here you’ll:
Support the design, development, and documentation of business applications and web solutions.
Develop and maintain code following established development and quality standards.
Conduct unit testing and support integration, regression, and performance testing activities.
Participate in SCRUM ceremonies including backlog grooming, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives.
Collaborate with senior developers and architects to implement scalable technical solutions.
Investigate and troubleshoot production issues to ensure application stability.
Contribute to improvements in development practices, automation, and application performance.
Provide effort estimates and support planning for development tasks.
Participate in design reviews and technical discussions with team members.
Assist in maintaining documentation and knowledge sharing across the development team.
What you bring:
Degree or Diploma in Computing Science or a related technical field.
Minimum of 4-5 years of application development and code integration experience in the following:
Java, J2EE, and RDBMS technologies (MS SQL Server or similar relational databases)
Cloud platforms such as AWS
SOAP web services and RESTful microservices (Spring Boot)
Containerization and cluster technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
Continuous integration tools such as Azure DevOps or Bitbucket
Strong understanding of relational databases and experience writing SQL queries
Demonstrated ability in requirement analysis and development of technical specifications
Demonstrated experience in design and architecture modelling
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Bonus Skills!
Experience with React, Next.js, or other modern JavaScript frameworks
Experience working with DevOps practices and CI/CD automation
Exposure to cloud-native application development
Experience with Agile software development methodologies
The salary range for this position is $91,185.84 to $113,982.36 and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 9%, with the opportunity to earn up to 15%.
Please note that this is a hybrid role based out of our Burnaby, BC office (3 on-site / 2 remote days). Applicants who are not located within commuting distance of our Head Office or are not looking to relocate to the Greater Vancouver/Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley region will not be considered.
