We are currently hiring a Senior Manager, Real Estate & Facilities (18-Month Contract) based in our Head Office in Burnaby, reporting to the VP, Channel Operations & Real Estate.
As the Senior Manager, Real Estate & Facilities, you will lead a team of managers and specialists, and guide the strategic planning, optimization, and delivery of initiatives within BCAA’s real estate portfolio and facilities operations. This role is responsible for overseeing end-to-end real estate lifecycle management and leasing activities, managing facilities infrastructure, maintenance and services, and the successful delivery of real estate and facilities projects for locations across the province.
You will work closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to develop data-driven strategies, manage key vendor and partner relationships, and ensure facilities and real estate initiatives align with operational needs and long-term business objectives. This is a highly collaborative leadership role focused on driving efficiency, enhancing the workplace experience, and delivering value across BCAA’s real estate portfolio.

What you’ll do:
Lead the full lifecycle management of BCAA’s real estate portfolio, including planning, optimization, site assessments, acquisitions, and lease management.
Partner with senior leaders to define strategy, goals, and roadmaps for real estate and facilities initiatives.
Conduct needs analyses and assessments to develop data-driven recommendations.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, brokers, landlords, and external partners.
Develop and present business cases and proposals for senior leadership and governance committees.
Manage departmental operating and capital budgets, including planning, monitoring, and variance analysis.
Oversee facilities infrastructure planning, maintenance programs, and service delivery standards.
Manage vendor and supplier relationships across maintenance, operations, and facilities services.
Ensure effective contract management, procurement practices, and cost controls.
Lead real estate and facilities projects, including builds, relocations, renovations, and infrastructure upgrades.
Support workplace planning and space optimization initiatives aligned with business needs.
Provide visibility into project performance through reporting, dashboards, and status updates.
Lead and develop a high-performing team through coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
Drive change management and communication strategies to support successful initiative delivery.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, operational excellence, and strong customer experience.
What you bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Real Estate, Facilities Management, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
8 to 10 years of experience in real estate, facilities, or operations management with 3 to 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven experience developing and executing strategies, plans, and measurable outcomes.
Strong leadership and coaching capabilities with experience building and developing teams.
Experience managing budgets, capital planning, and financial performance.
Strong understanding of real estate portfolio management, facilities operations, and vendor management.
Ability to work effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Adaptable and resourceful with the ability to work in complex and evolving environments.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Bonus Skills:
Understanding of real estate industry trends, insights, and emerging technologies.
Familiarity with regulatory bodies, associations, and industry standards.
Experience working within complex, multi-site organizations.
The salary range for this position is $113,000.00 to $135,000.00 and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 12.5%, with the opportunity to earn up to 20%.
Please note that this is a temporary contract for 18-Months. Applicants who are not located within commuting distance of our Head Office or are not looking to relocate to the Greater Vancouver/Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley region will not be considered.
