We are currently recruiting a Senior Business Credit Manager to fill a permanent vacancy on our Credit Risk team.

Reporting to the Director, Business Credit, in this role you will contribute to the effective management of Kindred’s business (commercial and agricultural) portfolio through credit adjudication and quality assurance throughout the lending process ensuring compliance to credit policies. This includes coaching and mentoring lenders serving Kindred’s business members to support effective credit structure, risk analysis, and member experience. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes and approves business credit requests within established limits
  • Collaborates with lending staff on business credits that require Loan Committee approval
  • Approves annual reviews on business accounts above branches’ approval limits, including conditions
  • Assists when appropriate with the approval of loan extensions, amendments, release or substitution of security
  • Assists with line of credit maintenance and any required margining
  • Supports lending staff to ensure that overdraft policy is followed for all accounts
  • Provides advice, coaching, and resources to build capabilities in the area of business lending
  • Contributes to formal training as subject matter expert and influences credit underwriting excellence

  • Forward thinking, sets out to improve policies, processes and tools to increase effectiveness and efficiency
  • Is able to lead change including encouraging and supporting staff as improvements are suggested and implemented.

You communicate clearly and collaborate effectively, providing constructive feedback and working well with others. You are a team player, wanting to contribute to a high achieving team. You have progressive business credit experience, strong analytical skills and demonstrate sound judgement within allowable risk parameters.  This is complimented by broad sector knowledge (preferably in Kindred's target market segments) and a strong service mindset that acts in the best interests of Kindred's membership while managing risk across the credit portfolio. 

You will be part of a collaborative workplace where you can engage with our purpose, participate in the business and share your voice. You’ll be expected to continually grow your skills and abilities and to share your expertise and experience with team members.

Plus, you bring your qualifications and experience:

  • College/University graduate in a related program
  • 6-8 years of progressive experience in business credit writing and adjudication
  • Proven quality of credit analysis including completion of credits, accuracy and sound judgement in credit decisions
  • Demonstrated success in coaching and mentoring others
