Receptionist (Permanent, Full-Time)

Compensation: $50,000/year

The Opportunity 

Smythe LLP is seeking a tech savvy Receptionist with exceptional communication and client service skills to join our growing team in our downtown Vancouver office. As part of the Office Services Team, you will be responsible for one of our most crucial positions in-house – to provide a welcoming and positive first impression to anyone entering our office. This is a multifaceted role providing general support to facilitate the day-to-day operation of the office in a smooth and efficient manner. Excellent attention to detail, strong computer literacy and a professional and pleasant demeanor at all times are required.

Responsibilities  

  • Creates a welcoming environment by greeting guests both in person and over the phone
  • General reception duties will include, but are not limited to, opening reception, managing guests and visitors, answering and managing incoming calls, liaising with couriers, scanning, faxing, meeting room bookings, boardroom set-up, ensuring cleanliness of boardrooms, ordering lunches and other support as required.
  • Maintaining the firm’s phone system and the our greeting messages before each holiday or office closure.
  • Entering new client information and maintaining up-to-date information in our electronic systems
  •  Assisting internal staff at all levels with general queries.
  • Support the Administrative team with projects and special deliverables as required.
  • Participates in training for all Office Administrative processes for cross functional support

What you bring

  • Excellent command of verbal and written English, with proven ability to communicate clearly and professionally
  • Strong knowledge of Outlook, MS Word and Excel
  • Excellent client service and interpersonal skills
  • Professional demeanour
  • Team player
  • Self-motivated and willing to take initiative
  • Ability to problem-solve
  • Experience in an office environment would be an asset
  • Working hours 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
