We are currently hiring an IS Security Architect based in our Head Office.
As the IS Security Architect, you will be the enterprise security architecture authority for major technology initiatives and platforms. You will help shape and advance BCAA’s security capabilities across cloud, identity, network, and application domains.
In this role, you will provide strategic technical planning, architecture guidance, and design expertise while partnering closely with business and IS teams to protect BCAA’s assets and enable secure delivery of business priorities. You will also serve as a trusted escalation point for the security team, offering technical leadership, mentoring, and practical guidance on complex security challenges.

What you’ll do
Develop, document and maintain an enterprise security architecture framework, ensuring it aligns with business objectives and industry standards.
Lead Zero Trust architecture design and implementation across identity, device, network, and application control planes.
Architect and drive adoption of SASE/SSE solutions (SWG, CASB, ZTNA, DLP) to close visibility gaps across enterprise applications.
Provide technical leadership and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security requirements into the software development lifecycle.
Align solutions with PCI DSS, NIST CSF, and internal risk frameworks through practical architectural controls.
Design and enhance security logging and monitoring architecture, including SIEM pipelines and log ingestion strategies.
Investigate security incidents and collaborate on post-incident reviews, offering recommendations for remediation and prevention.
Lead adoption of emerging AI-enabled security paradigms to strengthen BCAA’s security posture.
What you bring
CISSP, Undergraduate in Computer Science, Applicable Certifications or Diploma.
10+ years of working in a security-focused role with a minimum of 3 years of architectural experience.
Demonstrated experience designing Zero Trust and SASE/SSE architectures.
Strong understanding of identity-centric security (Entra ID, IAM, PAM).
Experience with cloud security architecture tooling (CSPM, CWPP, SSPM).
Experience making architecture trade-off decisions in high-stakes environments.
Experience providing technical incident response and operational support to engineering teams.
Proven track record acting as a lead architect across complex enterprise initiatives.
Knowledge of system design and architectural frameworks such as TOGAF, SABSA, ESA is a plus.
Proven excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and with other team members.
Ability to create systems and consistent procedures and processes in both technical and user-friendly language.
Proven ability to be proactive when dealing with issues and challenges.
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent multi-taking and organizational skills.
The salary range for this position is $133,519.20 to $166,899.00 and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 9%, with the opportunity to earn up to 15%.
Please note that this is a hybrid role based out of our Burnaby, BC office (3 on-site / 2 remote days). Applicants who are not located within commuting distance of our Head Office or are not looking to relocate to the Greater Vancouver/Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley region will not be considered. BCAA is pleased to provide relocation support for the right identified candidate.
