Purpose:
The Group Product Manager is an experienced senior product management professional that leads and executes the product strategy for PayByPhone in collaboration with the product leadership team.
This role is both a people leader and group product lead responsible for a portfolio of products.
The Group Product Manager is an influential people manager who focuses on providing professional development and coaching to their direct reports, leads collaboration within product and cross-functional teams throughout the business, and is responsible for leading and managing their teams from product concept to launch.
Responsibilities:
- Leads a team of Product Managers for a group of products which maximize product profitability and business performance and enhance customer experience.
- Coaches and manages their team to deliver a high level of performance and execution towards business objectives.
- Demonstrates a deep knowledge of product management principles and domain knowledge across all product management disciplines
- Supports a strong product culture and evangelizes product management practices throughout the organization.
- Acts as a key contributor to the overall product strategy and leads their team in setting and aligning the product roadmap.
- Develops strong understanding of market and customer needs.
- Collaborates with internal teams on competitive positioning and market development.
- Acts as the authoritative owner for their group product scope.
- Communicates and presents opportunities, rationale, and solutions to all levels of the organization, including executive audiences.
- Acts on behalf of their team to convey and gain leadership buy-in.
- Explores new practices and works to improve team-wide processes that benefits the product teams as a whole.
Required Qualifications:
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Strong experience in leading cross functional product teams that includes engineering and design in order to define, build, and maintain products which are critical to growth, engagement and retention.
- Experience in managing groups of product managers that represent numerous product offerings.
- Exposure to products that serve multiple markets (geographies).
- Experience influencing across domains and cross functional teams to deliver business objectives.
- Experience with products that use externally-consumable APIs, identity management, and security-related features.
- Has experience of performing well in large, rapidly expanding organizations.
- A technical background which enables you to contribute meaningfully to projects intended to improve product performance, stability, and maintainability.
- A strong understanding of business and finance which enables you to contribute meaningfully to the commercial success of your group of products.
- Excellent communication, writing, speaking and presentation skills.
- Strong management skills, including mentoring, training and professional development.
- 3+ years of people management experience.

- Formal product management related qualifications from certified institutions are considered an asset.
