We are currently hiring a Finance Analyst Intern to join our Financial Planning & Analysis team based in our Head Office in Burnaby, reporting to the Assistant Manager, Finance.

As a Finance Analyst Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting financial analysis, reporting, and business decision-making across BCAA. Working closely with Senior Financial Analysts and Finance leaders, you will contribute to key FP&A activities including budgeting support, variance analysis, and performance insights.

This is an excellent opportunity for a student who is passionate about finance, enjoys working with data, and is eager to develop their analytical and business partnering skills in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Partner with Senior Financial Analysts to interpret financial data and support business decision-making.

  • Perform financial and strategic analysis including actual-to-budget comparisons, KPI analysis, and trend analysis.

  • Extract, analyze, and interpret data using financial systems and tools.

  • Present insights and findings clearly through written and verbal communication.

  • Support data validation and reconciliation activities to ensure accuracy of financial information.

  • Assist with ongoing process improvements, automation, and efficiency initiatives, including the use of AI where appropriate.

  • Collaborate with Accounting, Finance Operations, and other teams to gain exposure to end-to-end finance processes.

  • Support ad hoc analysis, reporting, and project work as required.

What you bring:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.

  • Exposure or interest in finance or accounting, through coursework or practical experience.

  • Interest in financial modelling, analysis, and data-driven storytelling.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, with exposure to Word and PowerPoint.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and take initiative.

  • Bonus Skills:

  • Exposure to financial analysis tools or reporting platforms.

  • Experience working with large data sets or building presentations.

  • Interest in process improvement, automation, or AI-enabled tools.

The hourly rate for this position is $25.70/hr ($46,768.44) to $32.12/hr ($58,460.52) and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 5%, with the opportunity to earn up to 9%.

Please note that this is a temporary contract up to 4-months. This role is a hybrid role based out of our Burnaby, BC office (3 on-site / 2 remote days). Applicants who are not located within commuting distance of our Head Office or are not looking to relocate to the Greater Vancouver/Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley region will not be considered.
