Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented below is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

About the team
The Corporate Communications team leads Intact Financial Corporation’s (IFC) internal and external communications in support of IFC’s business objectives and strategic roadmap. This includes:

Within the Corporate Communications team, the HR Communications team works closely with HR partners and other communications teams to engage and empower employees through internal communications strategies and tactics that connect the dots for them with IFC's employee promise, purpose, values, objectives and strategy.
About the role
As Communications Specialist, HR Communications you’ll establish strong working relationships with HR partners and expertly lead communications projects that deliver on HR's strategic priorities. Your role involves owning accountability for the planning and delivery of comprehensive internal communications strategies that enhance employee engagement, promote our employee promise, and connect the dots with IFC's purpose, values, objectives and strategy. You’ll collaborate closely with your Corporate Communications colleagues, support key projects, set and track success metrics and provide recommendations on how we can enhance the impact of our communications.
The successful candidate will report to the Director of Internal Communications.

Collaborate with communications colleagues across Corporate Communications and the business, our brands, and global markets to drive collaboration, align communication efforts, and maximize impact.
Influence positive outcomes through persuasive and effective stakeholder management, enabling buy-in and engagement.
Develop and execute comprehensive internal communications strategies that enhance employee engagement, promote our employee promise, build up employee pride, and connect the dots with IFC's purpose, values, objectives and strategy.
Research and provide recommendations on innovative and creative ways to tell stories and achieve communications objectives, leveraging different tactics including video and events.
Exhibit exceptional writing skills to draft and edit engaging content for internal and external channels.
Participate in setting priorities and driving operational efficiencies to meet or exceed the goals set by senior leaders.
Drive change with innovative approaches to communications by staying informed of industry trends and best practices.
Lead communication project teams; reviewing team members' work and, in some instances, delegating tasks.
What success looks like
Demonstrates expertise at prioritization and project management and continuously supports and delivers results for key stakeholders and internal business partners.
Expertly navigates our matrixed environment and builds strong, collaborative working relationships with communications colleagues across Corporate Communications, our business and markets, as well as with business partners, leaders and other stakeholders across IFC.
Drives change by challenging the status quo and energizes others with a “can-do” attitude.
Leads the end-to-end process for engaging employee communication campaigns, from ideation to execution and results measurement.
What you will bring:
Undergraduate degree in communications/public relations/marketing or related discipline (or any combination of equivalent education and experience).
Minimum 5 years relevant experience working in communications.
Exceptional strategic thinking skills combined with an action orientation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven organizational and prioritization skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills, and capacity to manage an extensive network of stakeholders.
Experience with SharePoint Online and Staffbase is an asset.
For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
No Canadian work experience required, however must be eligible to work in Canada.
