The Claims Support Clerk receives, sorts, and images all associated correspondence (hard and soft copy). This role sorts and indexes (applies rules) to both manual and system generated claims in Unity OnBase.
The Claims Support Clerk sends correspondence to the claimants on a daily basis, including payment to doctors and Financial Institutions.
How you will create impact:
- Balance daily reports related to payments and identify discrepancies to inform Business Analysts.
- Receive, sort, and scan external Canada Post Claims mail on a daily basis.
- Separate and index documents in desktop application and validate member information in Claims software.
- Prepares outgoing letters as generated by Claims Examiners for folding/inserting and mailing to claimants and various other entities.
- Prepare attachments/explanations, match and validate cheques received daily from Guelph and mail to various associated payees, including e.g., doctors, and/or Financial Institutions.
- Monitors and actions emails in group mailboxes, in a professional and timely manner.
- Receives Canada Post Undelivered Return Mail for internal departments.
- Sort and catalogue by type, e.g. cancellations and action according to defined procedures.
- Verifies member new address information with Credit Union to re-send document in an accurate and timely manner.
- Cross-trained and acts as back up and support for various positions within the Facilities Operations team during vacation and days off or peak periods, knowledge of Mailroom and Support Clerk. Responsibilities and specific software used in those roles is required.
- Participates in projects relating to Facilities Operations.

Expected salary is $46,873
The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.ââ
