We currently have an opportunity for a System Administrator to join our Information Technology team! The Systems Administrator is responsible for the configuration, stability, integrity, and support of SCU’s core business systems. They ensure systems are maintained efficiently, securely, and in alignment with business operations and organizational initiatives.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain core business systems, performing authorized configuration updates and ensuring accuracy, stability, and compliance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, escalating complex matters and collaborating with vendors and internal teams as needed.
  • Support system changes, updates, and testing activities by following established procedures, runbooks, and documentation standards.
  • Maintain accurate system documentation, including configuration records, knowledge articles, forms, reports, and known issues.
  • Respond to system-related inquiries and service requests, providing clear communication on issues, changes, and impacts.
  • Gather and document business and technical requirements, providing effort estimates and input for prioritizing system enhancements.
  • Apply service management practices consistently, ensuring high-quality ticket handling, documentation, and appropriate escalation.
  • Contribute to team knowledge sharing, cross‑training, continuous improvement, and alignment with organizational goals and values.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 diploma plus one year of formal education in computer science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4–6 years of related experience in system administration or a similar technical role.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand operational needs and impacts.
  • Proficiency with system administration tools, applications, and related technologies.
  • Ability to stay current with evolving IT environments and industry changes.
  • Strong multitasking, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of programming logic.
  • Responsive to support inquiries via email, phone, and other channels.
  • Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, organized, and able to work independently to meet deadlines.
