What you'll be doing

The Chief Security Office has global enterprise accountability and centralizes all Information, Physical, Cyber, and Corporate Security.  The Senior Engagement Specialist is responsible for leading and executing an engagement strategy to strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, drive business objectives, and enhance organizational reputation, in support of the CSO Roadmap. This role requires a strategic thinker with proven leadership skills, exceptional communication abilities, and a track record of delivering high-impact engagement initiatives.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

 

How you'll succeed

  • Engagement and Communication strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive engagement strategies aligned with organizational goals. Act as the primary point of contact for major engagement initiatives, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution. Lead the engagement ideas for events, workshops, and forums to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing. Analyze engagement data and feedback to provide actionable insights and continuous improvement recommendations. Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and updates to senior leadership and stakeholders
  • Understanding and Documenting Requirements - Work closely with business partners to gather complex business requirements and facilitate solution design discussions to ensure you meet project needs. Build strong relationships, lead discussions, listen and ask the right questions to ensure solutions meet requirements. Build client-focused solutions that meet business requirements. Prepare and validate solution design documents around areas such as scope clarification, solution requirements, and quality assurance.
  • Project Lead – Support end-to-end project implementation as a subject matter expert, and provide guidance to a diverse team of technology and project professionals. Oversee requests from various stakeholders and thoughtfully create and/or edit a wide variety of presentation and communication materials (e.g. key messages, communication plans, tactical deliverables, presentations etc.) Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, partners, and cross-functional teams. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Communication - Superior interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to convey or present factual and conceptual information on issues which require detailed explanation and interpretation. Create internal and external facing communications on behalf of the Chief Security Officer, and recommendations for their social media profile. Maintain a collaborative work environment and support team members to resolve organizational, operational, and process problems. Foster a culture of collaboration and excellence.

 

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate 8+ years of experience in Engagement, relationship management, leading projects and designing solutions or in a related discipline. You have demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and multiple stakeholders. You have strong analytical, problem solving and decision making abilities with high level of professionalism, integrity and organizational awareness.
  • You have a degree/diploma in Business, Communications, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
