The Small Business Relationship Manager is responsible for driving growth and market adoption of Manulife’s digital-enabled retirement solution for small businesses. This role promotes FutureStep as the leading small-plan offering, builds and strengthens advisor relationships, and executes targeted strategies to contribute to the national sales quota. Through consultative conversations, the SBRM identifies advisor needs and positions tailored FutureStep solutions, supporting advisors from initial prospecting through plan setup. The role also delivers onboarding guidance, product demos, and education to enhance advisor comfort with the platform. Additional responsibilities include managing an accurate pipeline, servicing advisor and client need, responding to qualified RFPs, preparing proposals, and supporting finalist presentations. Together, these activities ensure a streamlined experience, strong advisor engagement, and sustainable growth of the FutureStep business.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Promote and position FutureStep as the leading retirement solution for small businesses.

  • Build and strengthen advisor relationships to increase FutureStep awareness and adoption.

  • Conduct consultative conversations to understand advisor needs and present suitable FutureStep solutions.

  • Support advisors through the sales process, through to plan set up – targeted to support the National Sales quota.

  • Provide onboarding guidance and transition support to advisors and plan sponsors using FutureStep’s streamlined processes.

  • Conduct demos, product walkthroughs, and educate advisors about the value of the platform.

  • Respond to RFPs that fit the FutureStep profile; prepare proposals and support finalist presentations.

  • Maintain accurate pipeline tracking and territory management discipline.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bilingual French/English – oral and written.

  • College or University degree (business, economics or finance preferred).

  • Experience in the Canadian financial services industry.

  • Knowledge of investments, group retirement and non-registered savings plans.

  • Understanding of pension and investment regulations and legislation.

  • Familiarity with digital onboarding platforms or simplified retirement products is an asset.

Salary range is expected to be between

$71,475.00 CAD - $119,125.00 CAD

Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
