About this job:

The North America Non-life CFO Team has an opening on its team for a Senior Financial Analyst. This is a great opportunity to join an organization and team to build the financial reporting experience necessary to take the next step in your career. Reporting directly to the Controller North America, you will have the unique opportunity to learn the necessary skills required to be successful in this role.  You will be part of a team responsible for the regulatory reporting of three Property & Casualty reinsurance companies as well as additional entities within the U.S. holding company structure. This role will give you the opportunity to work with personnel across all levels and locations of the organization.   • Assist in the coordination and analysis of local quarterly and annual regulatory filings including the Annual/Quarterly Statement to OSFI (Canadian Regulator), Annual/Quarterly Statements to the NAIC/State Regulators (U.S. Regulator)
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual Audited Financial Statements on an IFRS (Canada) basis and USSTAT (U.S.) basis, including close coordination with external auditors
  • Quarterly review of the IFRS, USGAAP, USSTAT financial Statements
  • Prepare reconciliations of Clearwater Investment System to OSFI IFRS and USSTAT Financial Statements
  • Support of the quarterly federal tax provisioning for all Canada and U.S. non-life tax filers
  • Support the preparation of various data calls (IBC, RAA, BEA)
  • Support various tax filings (GST/HST, Federal, Federal Excise Tax, Sales/Use Tax, State, Local and Provincial)
  • Support the production of legal entity plans and capital forecasts
  • Review and assist in the preparation of board materials
  • Ensure accuracy checks and documents are completed with the highest quality and on a timely basis and all controls are completed

Qualifications

About you:

You bring the following qualifications and personal qualities:

  • A minimum of 3 years of accounting/reporting experience in insurance/reinsurance industry
  • Knowledge of IFRS and USGAAP accounting standards.
  • Strong working knowledge with MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point) and wDesk
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) skills
  • Strong attention to detail and deadlines
  • Strong work ethic and always stiving for improvement
  • College/University Degree in Accounting is required
