We are currently recruiting a Payroll Administrator to fill a full time contract position in our Kitchener Head Office.

The contract will run until September 2027.

The Payroll Administrator serves as the first point of contact and subject matter expert for payroll and HRIS application to support employees, leaders, and the HR team. In this role you will be supporting payroll processing, data integrity, reporting, training, and process improvement. Through careful stewardship of payroll data and processes, you will help ensure employees are paid accurately and on time while supporting a positive employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process biweekly payroll accurately, reliably, and in compliance with legislative requirements and organizational policies and practices.
  • Support payroll related processes including salary increases, incentive payout, and other payroll initiatives or projects as assigned.
  • Provide internal service support for the HRIS system, including documentation for payroll and HRIS process change and improvements
  • Support system optimization and reporting through data integrity reports, evaluating and maintaining security setup, and reviewing system security

    What to bring

    You have strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and are comfortable working with a variety of internal stakeholders. You approach tasks with a problem-solving mindset, using sound judgment and troubleshooting skills to resolve issues. You are detail oriented, organized, and able to manage sensitive information with care while supporting accurate and timely payroll processes.

    You will be part of a collaborative workplace where you’ll be asked to participate in the business and share your voice. You’ll be expected to continually grow your skills and abilities and to share your expertise and experience with team members.

    Plus, you bring your qualifications and experience:

    • Post-secondary education in accounting, human resources, business administration, data management, or a related field.
    • Canadian Payroll Association Courses
    • 3-5 years of experience in payroll
    • Experience processing payroll in an organization with 150+ employees
    • Working knowledge of UKG Core HCM, timekeeping/ absence management, payroll or another integrated payroll HRIS
    • Power BI would be beneficial
