Our client, an established and expanding CPA firm in Halifax, NS is looking to add a Manager to their team. This permanent, full-time role offers the opportunity to work closely with a range of owner-managed businesses across various industries.
Key Responsibilities for the Job:
- Yearend file review & limited preparation (compilations & review engagements)
- Corporate, personal & trust tax return review & preparation
- Manage the engagement process including planning, execution, and finalization, including continuous communication with the team and clients regarding deadlines and deliverables
- Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches in order to improve work processes
- Mentor team members towards professional and personal development
- General business & advisory services to clients
Experience & Attributes for Success:
- CPA designation or near completion required
- Experience with owner-managed business clients, ideally within a small firm environment
- 3 - 5+ years’ experience in public accounting
- Proficiency in Caseware, Profile, and/or MS Office Suite are considered a definite asset
- Dedicated work ethic with a client-focused approach and eagerness to grow and learn
- Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines in dynamic environment
- Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
This mid-sized public accounting firm has proven dedication to maintaining work/life balance (minimal overtime) and values each employee's contribution. The standard work week (although flexible) would be Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30, with the exception of February- April 8:30-5:00 and a 4 day work week in July & August (Fridays off). The office also closes between Christmas and New Years (paid time off) and offers free parking!
