We are looking for a Financial Planning Specialist to join our Wealth Strategies team in Red Deer.

The primary focus of the Financial Planning Specialist is to provide full financial planning experience to high-net-worth members by completing discovery, analysis, implementation and ongoing monitoring to ensure members achieve their financial goals, and in doing so they deliver superior member experience. The Financial Planning Specialist fulfills the role by uncovering the full financial needs of our members and referring those members to a Financial Advisor, Business Banking Advisor, Financial Planner, Wealth Protection Specialist or other partners within the fully integrated Servus network.

What You'll be Doing: 

  • Deliver the full financial planning experience by implementing the CFP’s six steps of financial planning including discovery, gathering data, analysis, presentation of the financial plan, implementation and ongoing monitoring (annual reviews) to existing members.
  • Maintain up to date Financial Planning and investment industry knowledge by participating in training programs/industry courses to upgrade skills, obtain and maintain accreditation and licensing requirements.
  • Monitor and ensure personal and corporate goals are being met/exceeded including the following: growth of the book of business, revenue, asset gathering, and retention of assets, sales/renewals, insurance, member segmentation, and referrals to internal partners. 
  • Support the teams sales plan that focuses on the retaining/attracting new members with high net worth developing internal referral sources, centers of influence (COI’s), improving profitability with existing members, developing business from existing members and retention of members.
  • Build a financial planning practice with a member-centric focus, leveraging tools including all financial service considerations and build a network of Servus partners.
  • Take necessary action on issues or concerns arising from daily trade reviews and audits.

What you Bring:

Experience 

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the wealth industry including securities and compliance.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial planning, products, policies, procedures, and operations.
  • Post-secondary diploma/degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Education and Training:

  • Post-secondary diploma/degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Financial Planning designation (CFP)
  • Canadian Securities Course, CIRO conduct Training 
  • Life License
  • CIRO Investment Rep Training
