Job Description

Our client, a growing client service industry leader in Atlantic Canada, is seeking a Director, Finance to manage the accounting and finance functions for its office in Halifax. This is a permanent opportunity.

Willing to roll up your sleeves, you will lead the organization’s financial reporting and internal systems and controls activities. Reporting to the CFO and working closely with a team of highly motivated, committed individuals, primary responsibilities include:

  • Financial accounting, reporting and analysis
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Developing and implementing internal financial and operational processes, systems and controls
  • Treasury management and reporting
  • Interdepartmental and key external relationships management
  • Year-end coordination with external auditors
  • Staff supervision
  • Other accounting, finance and special project responsibilities as required

As the ideal candidate, you have a Chartered Professional Accountant designation and have at least 5 years experience at the senior level.  Your track record and accomplishments reflect your advanced communication, interpersonal and problem resolution skills. Willingness to do the legwork while having the ability to guide staff is critical.  Additionally, you are passionate about your responsibilities and possess high ethical standards and integrity. Exceptional organizational, prioritizing and time management skills are also required.
