What You’ll Be Doing

CIBC’s Global Markets business focuses on delivering expert financial and economic analysis and deal-making capabilities to clients in Canada and around the world. The Global Markets team supports fixed income, foreign exchange, commodities, derivatives, equities, and growth markets and is focused on building a strong, innovative relationship-oriented bank.

Within CIBC Global Markets, the Alternate Solutions Group (ASG) was launched in 2013 with a mandate to develop innovative and creative technology-driven capital markets solutions. This group is an unconventional capital markets organization that combines the creative spirit and agility of a FinTech startup with the financial strength and governance protocol of a major financial institution. ASG has been recognized as a global leader in providing disruptive technological capital markets solutions in several product areas including Cross Border Payments, Dynamic Currency Conversion, Multi-currency pre-paid cards, Foreign Cash & Precious Metals Online and white labeling thereof. ASG’s client base stretches from some of the largest banks in the world, to corporates to CIBC’s retail clients.

We're hiring for the Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) team, a leading foreign exchange (FX) product within ASG. DCC is a service offered on ATMs, eCommerce platforms, and point-of-sale terminals that allows foreign cardholders to pay in their home currency, providing transparency and clarity on transaction amounts. Since its inception, the DCC product team has partnered with over 30 financial institutions to enable this white label solution on more than 100,000 ATMs worldwide. As part of our team, you'll help us grow the DCC business in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You'll work alongside a diverse, production-focused team, with key mandates including client relationship management, new client acquisition, and effective team collaboration.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. To successfully perform the work, you’ll be on-site full-time.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Client Connection – You will act as the primary point of contact for financial institution clients, developing a consultative selling approach to anticipate their business needs and deliver as a trusted advisor. Meet regularly with clients—in both English and Spanish—to review product performance, discuss technical projects, and present value-adding initiatives.

  • Sales Pipeline Advancement – You will drive new client acquisition by engaging prospects, pitching our product, originating deals, and leading implementation projects through to production. Collaborate closely with the distribution team to support the sales cycle, including preparing client-facing presentations, conducting analysis, and providing ad-hoc product expertise.

  • Analytics & Product Expertise - Identify, analyze, and interpret patterns in complex data sets to provide actionable recommendations on business initiatives and growth opportunities. Monitor and track client portfolio performance and economic factors throughout the day, preparing routine reports to respond to client requests and address anomalies. Conduct comprehensive research to identify and analyze business trends, while developing and maintaining deep knowledge of all managed products to enhance processes and proactively advance strategic initiatives.

  • Collaboration - Support and mentor team members by sharing knowledge, collaborating, and solving problems together. Build strong internal relationships with stakeholders across distribution, delivery, technology, and other teams. Provide clear context, direction, and support when assigning work to ensure everyone contributes to achieving our shared goals and purpose.

Who You Are

  • You have an undergraduate university degree in business, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) or related field, MBA is an asset.

  • You have 3+ years of professional work experience with a proven track record in client relationship management, business analysis, and sales. Experience in management consulting, capital markets, or project or product management in FX payments is an asset, along with familiarity with financial technology.

  • You’re motivated by collective success. You take the lead and can manage working with cross-functional teams through complex tasks, projects, and initiatives. You know how to get work done and consistently deliver results, ensuring objectives are met and team goals are achieved.

You’re comfortable presenting analyses and recommendations to senior executives in both languages, and you create effective client-facing materials such as RFPs, pitchbooks, and presentation decks.

  • You excel at analysis and problem solving. You have strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with experience working with complex data sets and performing quantitative analyses in Excel.
