APPEALS COORDINATOR 

 Full-Time 18-Month Contract – Competition #25-52 

Position Summary  

We are seeking a dedicated administrative professional to join ASEBP’s Governance team. In collaboration with the Appeals Facilitators, this role will support both the total disability and policy appeal processes. Key responsibilities include coordinating appeal meetings, preparing appeal packages, and ensuring all documentation is properly downloaded and maintained within ASEBP’s systems.  

The successful candidate will bring one to three years of experience in administrative support, including demonstrated proficiency in handling confidential materials with discretion and care.  

Your Key Responsibilities  

  • Support appeal files for both total disability and policy appeal meetings including retrieving documents, redacting confidential information as required, and drafting decision letters. 
  • Coordinate all appeal-related meetings, including managing invitations and maintaining attendance lists.  
  • Track relevant appeal information using Excel spreadsheets.  
  • Maintain up-to-date policy meeting materials and resources using Diligent software.  
  • Manage documentation by downloading relevant files from ASEBP systems and transferring files to Records when appropriate. 
  • Collaborate with external partners to facilitate claim processing. 
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned to support the appeals processes and team operations. 

Your Education and Experience  

  • A diploma or certificate in a related discipline.   
  • One to Three years of related experience 

A combination of education and experience may be considered. 

Your Abilities 

  • Superior organizational and time management skills. 
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with a variety of audiences. Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely.  
  • Ability to organize workflow and priorities independently. 
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines.  
  • Understanding of group benefits and insurance principles.  
  • Experience providing support to senior management and board members. 
  • Strong computer skills with experience using Microsoft Suite, including Excel 
  • Experience using Adobe Acrobat  
  • Working with sensitive and/or confidential information
