Job Description

Our long-standing, trusted, and continually growing client is seeking an Accountant to support the accurate and timely management of inventory transactions and procurement processes.Β Based in Halifax, NS, this role will also assist with monthly financial activities. The ideal candidate is detail-focused, organized, and enjoys working hands-on in a collaborative finance setting.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

  • Support the inventory purchasing cycle, including generating POs and coordinating with vendors
  • Maintain and update inventory records including receipts, transfers, and product details
  • Oversee product setup and pricing updates in the point-of-sale system
  • Collaborate with internal teams on inventory planning and order coordination
  • Reconcile supplier invoices related to inventory and approve for payment
  • Contribute to inventory count preparation and assist with related adjustments
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and general month-end tasks as needed

Experience & Attributes for Success:

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent training in accounting is strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting or inventory-related experience
  • Proficiency with accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and other Office tools
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Strong time management and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Professional judgment and commitment to confidentiality
  • Team-oriented mindset and willingness to support evolving processes
